Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision

A city transformed by the gospel โ€” where every person knows they are seen, loved, and redeemed.

Our Mission

To make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love one another, and serve the city of Chicago with justice and compassion.

Gospel-Centered

Everything we do flows from the good news that Jesus died and rose for sinners. The gospel is not just our entry point โ€” it's our entire life.

Multiethnic & Multicultural

We believe the beauty of the Body of Christ is its diversity. We are intentional about reflecting the full scope of God's family across race, ethnicity, and background.

Justice-Oriented

Faith without works is dead. We pursue racial reconciliation, economic equity, and community restoration as expressions of our love for God and neighbor.

Word & Spirit

We hold together robust biblical preaching and expectant prayer, believing God's Word and God's Spirit both work powerfully in our lives.

Our Story

From a living room to the South Loop โ€” God has been writing Redeemer's story since 2008.

2008 The Founding

Pastor Marcus Webb and seven friends began meeting in his Logan Square apartment, studying Acts and praying for a church that reflected the city's diversity.

2010 First Public Services

Redeemer City launched public services in a rented theater in Pilsen with 140 people. The multiethnic worship and Spirit-filled preaching drew hundreds in the first year.

2013 South Loop Campus Opens

After years of growth, Redeemer City purchased and renovated a former warehouse in the South Loop, creating a permanent home for worship and community.

2016 Justice Initiative Launched

The Redeemer Justice Network formally launched, coordinating our tutoring programs, prisoner reentry partnerships, and housing advocacy work across the city.

2019 Second Campus: Englewood

Responding to the needs of Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, Redeemer planted a daughter church led by Pastor Dana James, now serving 380 families.

2024 500 Families Strong

Redeemer City celebrates 500 member families across two campuses, 12 nationalities represented, and 18 years of gospel witness in Chicago.

March 2026

Dear Redeemer Family,

As we enter Holy Week and approach Easter, I find myself meditating on Romans 8:18 โ€” "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Chicago is a city that suffers. Our neighbors in Englewood suffer. Many of you suffer privately in ways the congregation will never know. And yet โ€” the resurrection changes everything. Death does not have the final word. Injustice does not have the final word. Grief does not have the final word. He is risen, and that changes how we live in a city that desperately needs that news. This Easter, I'm asking each of us to bring one person who doesn't know Jesus. Not to convince them โ€” just to invite them. Let God do the rest. He is faithful. He is risen. He is Lord. For the city, Pastor Marcus

For the city,

Pastor Marcus Webb
